Dog Walking

Between mid-May and mid-September, dogs are excluded from the main swimming beach between groynes numbered 14a to 18, which broadly corresponds to the area in front of the line of beach huts.  Dogs are welcome on the whole beach during the rest of the year.

Owners are expected to clear up after their pets - bags and dog bins are provided - and to keep them under control at all times. West Wittering Estate and East Head are covered by The Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act 2005 which means you could be fined up to £1000.

Remember not to leave dogs in locked cars on warm days.

Lots of dog walkers and people use the beach all year round, we appreciate that the area provides a great opportunity for dogs to be let off the lead but please be considerate and ensure you have control of your dog at all times.
